Celebrated annually on 2 February, World Wetlands Day aims to raise global awareness about the vital role of wetlands for people and planet. The Day also marks the date of the adoption of the Convention on Wetlands on 2 February 1971, in the Iranian city of Ramsar on the shores of the Caspian Sea.
The celebration of the day was arranged to create awareness of the wetland biodiversity its conservation and importance, among the students. The program was open for all the students of the college.
This one-day program was organised online on the Google Meet platform.
The Introduction of the resource person was given by Dr. S. V. Madhale.
Dr. M. V. Gokhale from Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil College, Urun-Islampur was the resource person of the program. He presented his work on wetlands conservation on the coastal regions and explained its opportunity as ecotourism.
Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. M. S. Sutare.
Technical side of the programme was handled by Dr. S. P. Dorugade.
Total 24 participants attended the program and participated.
